Hi,does anyone know for sure that since 2002 the ACCC has told retailers that all dvd's sold must be region free or all regions. Apparantly we are the first and only country to do this, has it ever been confirmed?

Thanks JEL. Yes I did mean players, have heard that the ACCC has made it mandatoty that all dvd players sold after 2002 will be region free, and that Aust is the only country to do so,so far. Once you have a region free player I don't think it matters what region the dvd's (disks) are. It makes for cheaper disks as you can buy them from Asia in auction sites etc, which are a lot cheaper than those from USA.& Aust. Thanks for your prompt reply........Bob K.
